Science & Technology Organizes Activities of Science & Technology Week 2016

Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed Al Saud, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) inaugurates next Sunday activities of Science & Technology Week (1438/2016) organized by KACST at its Headquarters during the period 8 – 21 Muharram 1438 corresponding to 9 – 22 October 2016.

The Week’s exhibition for this year, comprehends more than 16 participant pavilions that represent KACST’s research institutes besides scientific centers and programs as well as the Service Departments that function granting patents, providing information, supporting scientific research and securing advisory services and technical support for innovators and creators.

The aim of this Science Week is to identify Saudi youth, both males and females whether in schools and universities of the importance of principles and areas of science and technology that are closely linked with interest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as coupling concepts of science and technology with the community, consolidating scientific issues, and their vital role in the construction and progress of societies and peoples.

KACST showcases, through the activities of this Science and technology Week, varied direct scientific experiments, space images and multimedia which exhibit many scientific issues worked on by KACST and technological products generated in its research centers as well to stimulate visitors to gain a general perception of scientific areas and issues and their fundamentals, as well as the development of scientific thinking and research skills.
Through activities of this Week, KACST targets creating voluptuous knowledgeable atmosphere to spread the concept of science and technology and take them out of scientific research centers and laboratories to the cognitive concept, simple to read and easy to grasp, so that visitors of all ages can take advantage of the rapidly developing sciences and technologies taking into account the fact that most of these technologies are applied in various walks of our daily life.

KACST has scheduled the exhibition’s visiting hours for two weeks, where the morning session from 8:00 pm to 12:00 has been allocated for male students from both schools and universities during the first week and for female students of the various stages of education during the second week, while the session from 4 pm to 10 pm is open for all. 

It is worth mentioning that KACST works on supporting scientific reach and innovation in the national strategic areas as it also provides the technological support to both the public and private sectors through its proven and robust potentialities aided by Saudi national cadres of researchers, experts and specialists.
