The 7th Annual Saudi Technology Incubation Conference 2016 concludes its activities
Activities of the 7th Annual Saudi Technology Incubation Conference 2016, organized by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) at its headquarters, under kind patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud were rounded off today in presence of remarkable gathering of technology incubation leaders, decision makers and experts and specialists technology incubation and acceleration.
Activities of the second day of the Conference commenced by a session chaired by Abdulmohsen Alesa, Director, Entrepreneurship, BADIR Program for Technology Incubators, KSA that concentrated on supporting technology entrepreneurs through entrepreneurship programs. The Conference’s participants discusses during the second session how universities can support innovation and commercialization and the challenges that encounter universities in supporting innovation and turning it into tangible products under the chairmanship of Osama Natto, Founder-CEO, Miqlaa Venture, KSA; while Meshal Saleh, Business Development Adviser, BADIR- ICT Incubator, BADIR Program for Technology Incubators, KSA, chaired the third session that elaborated on developing skills of technology entrepreneurs.
Sessions of the second day of the Conference were concluded by the fourth session, where participants reviewed the ideas and lessons learned and gained from the work at hand as well as mechanisms to enable governments, financial institutions, universities, research centers and institutions in addition to the private sector, chambers of commerce and industry to exchange experiences and best practices in the field of business incubators as a strategy to gain access to the knowledge-based economy.
Through this event, BADIR Program affirms its role in supporting exerted efforts to develop and localize technology in the Kingdom, energize and promote the spirit of technology entrepreneurship and innovation for the Saudi youth and also contributes to supporting Saudi entrepreneurs and help them convert their ideas into successful ventures that play a major role in fostering the march of the national economy, diversifying sources of income and providing more job opportunities for Saudi youth
