Bahrain Deputy Prime Minister honors King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology



HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology of the Kingdom of Bahrain honored King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in appreciation of its patronage of the Award of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for excellence in designing and developing e-courses. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Swailem, KACST Vice- President for Scientific Research Support, received the shield of honor from the Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister during the opening ceremony of the Fifth International Conference on e-learning, which was recently launched in Bahrain. Through sponsoring this award, KACST seeks to stimulate individual creativity and innovation in areas of science and technology, create competitive environment for producing electronic courses, as well as raising awareness and interest in electronic culture to intensify efforts to promote the integration and the use of technology in the design of school curricula. The Award aims to develop skills to achieve quality and excellence in e-learning, strengthen efforts to reach out to modern methods of e-learning and adopting them in universities and schools to provide science in attractive methodologies.
