​Development of a Plasma Fuel Reformer for High Efficiency ICE

The project aims to employ a plasma technology that reduces harmful emissions to the environment and improves the efficiency of Internal Combustion Engines. The system was built and tested by the participating partner in specialized labs in Belarus where KACST’s team was also trained to operate the system and extract data. Later, the setup was shipped and installed into the Internal Combustion Lab at KACST. Tentative results revealed a reduction in harmful emissions, however; more operating tests and optimizations need to be done to the system. In addition, two papers have been submitted for publication.
