“Science & Technology” Supports the Incubation programs in Prince Nora Bint Abdulrahman University

KACST, represented in Badir Program for Technology Incubators, concluded an agreement of joint cooperation with Prince Nora Bint Abdulrahman University to assist in establishing a branch of Badir Program for Technology Incubators in the university.

Mohammad Al Saud, KACST Vice President for Research Institutes and Princess Dr. El-Gawharah Fahd Mohamed Al Saud, the dean of Prince Nora Bint Abdulrahman University.
Prince Dr. Turki indicated that the agreement targets achieving the kingdom’s developmental goals to be transferred into knowledge-based economy with all incentives to develop innovation culture through activating knowledge sources develop their applications, investing them then successfully marketing them.
From her side, Princess Dr. El-Gawharah stressed that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin AbdulAziz took full care of women and particularly the working ladies adding that this cooperation agreement with is a vivid example of this care. Dr. El-Gawharah revealed that this is not the first time for KACST to take such an action as it had previously established excellence centers for Saudi female researchers in Prince Nora Bint Abdulrahman University and on other universities as well stating that the KACST and the University are an integral unit that offers sustainable boost to Saudi women.
Lady Dr. Nailah Abdulrahman Al-Dehan the Vice-Dean of the University for Community Services and Environment Development Affairs highlighted the aspiration of the university to cooperate with KACST to establish the first female incubator to serve all Saudi women and only those affiliated to Prince Nora Bint Abdulrahman University. She added that the new incubator would be a branch of Badir Incubator for Information and Communication Technology to establish a communicating link with institutions and research centers and benefit from them to transform ideas and innovations of Saudi young ladies into projects to serve and support the national economy.
Dr.Abdulaziz Al-Harqan, the manager of Badir Program for Technology Incubators, explained that Badir role in this agreement would be supervising the process of establishing female business incubators in the university through a team of experts who would study the project, analyze and specify the needs to come to a practical and viable conception for the incubator in Prince Nora Bint Abdulrahman University.
Badir program for technology incubators has been initiated by KACST to establish and support an economy based on knowledge besides transferring the results of laboratories and research institutes to the market. The program also supervises the performance of its five incubators for Information and Technology, Biotechnology, Advanced Industrialization, Nanotechnology and Energy Technology. Moreover, the program supports establishing technology incubators in universities and other institutes in various scopes such as feasibility studies, market studies and researches besides administration structuring.
