KACST, represented by King Abdullah initiative for Arabic contents is organizing a competition for the best electronic magazine on the level of boys and girls summer centers throughout the Kingdom regions and provinces in collaboration with the Minsitry of Education represented by IT General Department. About 300 Summer Centers in 83 boys and girls department of education.
Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al Kanhal, the Supervisor of Computer and Electronics Research Center in KACST had stated that the purpose of this competition is to spread competition spirit among male and female students in the field of electronic publishing, media editing, design and manage the contents on internet. This is expected to contribute in achieving the initiative objectives to enrich the Arabic content on the website, train youth on modern technologies in the field of information and publication, develop communication skills, and the spirit of working as one team.
Dr. Mohammed Al Kanhal had further stated that the competition concept depends on the establishment website for the electronic magazine by the administration of Summer Club to introduce the Summer Club, its activities and media news coverage through this website. This matter will contribute in enriching the Arabic contents on the website.
Al Kanhal had pointed out that participation principles are represented by establishing an advertising link for the completion and application tool on the electronic site of Education Departments by the managers of IT centers & units at the departments of education. This shall be associated with the formation of Management Committee composed of the department of male students activities, the department of girl students department and Information Technology Department. This committee shall be responsible for providing the project supervisor at the Ministry with Electronic magazines links within not more than one week of starting summer activities and selection of the winning websites.
He further added that measures also include that this formed committee in the education department shall select the best six websites of electronic magazines of the Summer Clubs in all departments of education in the different regions and select three websites from province departments to participate in the competition for the competing centers on the level education departments one week before concluding summer club activities.
