The Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency carries on its Awareness Campaign for Energy Rationalization

The Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency (SCEE) continues its energy- rationalization awareness campaign directed to male and female students of the primary stage under the banner “Together to Save Energy” that targets about hundred and fifty thousand male and female students in various cities including Riyadh, Al-Kharj, Al-Khobar, Dhahran, Dammam, and Jubail, paving the way all for generalizing this campaign all over primary schools in the Kingdom
Currently, SCEE affiliated to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) organizes workshops that address
representatives of schools and educational departments to familiarize them with mechanism of implementing the campaign and its action plan in the presence of large gathering of male and female teachers who are in charge of coordinating proceedings of the campaign in schools.
In the same context, a workshop was held in KACST’s headquarter today in which a good number of male and female teachers from Riyadh city took part where an introductory presentation was given comprehending identifying the campaign, its objectives and vision, means and tools, role of campaign-coordinators in schools and how to function these means and tools to make the campaign a tangible success.
SCEE’s specialists elaborated on objectives of the campaign that include the concept of energy rationalization and how to instill this concept among the child’s values to be reflected on students’ conduct then behaviors besides involving students and campaign-participants to spread out the culture of rationalizing the surrounding environment, in addition to activating the role of the school in promoting students’ awareness of energy rationalization.
Then, SCEE’s specialists went through means and tools used in the campaign that include a narrative cartoon film on a CD that tackles the concept of energy rationalization in an interesting and attractive technique implicitly instilling energy-rationalization concepts within the film context. A campaign web-site has been developed on the internet comprehending means of identifying the campaign through attractive cartoon figures that appeal to children meanwhile offer them tips on energy conservation and how to rationalize its use. 
The workshop also focused on identifying participant teachers, with their role and how to function means and tools of the campaign to make it a success,   initiate interactive activities inside schools including discussion panels with students, on the film, encouraging them to log in the campaign’s site on the web besides participating in games and contests available on the site.
The Attendees expressed their admiration of the campaign’s idea, the valuable educational side presented to students through making them aware of the importance of energy and conserving it. They also offered their thanks and gratitude to those in charge of SCEE and its specialists for this initiative that has been presented in a new shape and with newly developed ideas.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Kharj city has hosted two workshops at the Education Department; the first was held on Monday 25th ZulHijjah in the presence of a number of Al-Kharj schools’ coordinators while the second was held on Monday, the 10th of Muharram at Al-Kharj Center for Educational Training and targeted the lady-coordinators of the campaign in the targeted schools, whereas the SCEE’s female-team represented it in this workshop. The attendees were 56 lady-teacher and lady-instructor who represented 50 school.
