Riyadh Hosts the First Scientific Conference for Developing Date Palms and Dates Sector in the Arab World

      Under the patronage of Dr. Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Balghonaim, Minister of Agriculture, King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in collaboration with Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC) and Council of Saudi Chambers organizes the First Scientific Conference for the Development of Date Palms and Dates Sector in the Arab World that spans for four days at the Conference Center, Building at KACST’s Headquarters in Riyadh.
The conference, that witnesses launching Date Palm and Dates Research League in the Arab world, spots light on the importance of the palm and dates sector in the Arab World, the role of this sector in supporting national economies in the Arab world. The conference will also review the latest in areas of production operations, marketing, technologies and innovations that serve the palm and dates sector besides creating the opportunity for participants to communicate and encourage developing this sector and its stakeholders.
The conferences discusses various tracks including  improving palm productivity,  harvest and post harvest operations, secondary products for palm and dates, technology and innovations for palm and dates, processing, packaging, marketing and specialized services and the  role of the date and palm sector in supporting Arab national economies. 
The conference dedicated two evening sessions for date-palm and dates’ farmers and investors to discuss developing this sector with experts, specialists and decision-makers.
