Riyadh city hosts an international scientific gathering next week that would discuss scientific developments in field of water desalination. This gathering of international researchers and experts would focus on the latest developments in concepts of water desalination using solar energy, specialized membranes and successful international experiments in this vital area.
The Saudi International Water Technologies Conference 2011, that is organized by King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in its headquarters under the under the Patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques during the period 21-22 November 2011, propounds 17 work papers that discuss the latest developments regards the kingdom’s plans in the field of water desalination.
The overall objective of the Conference is to create the largest gathering of stakeholders including investors, decision-makers and contributors to the Kingdom’s awareness and understanding of water technology besides pushing the wheel of cooperation among those stakeholders to achieve the national strategic priorities of water technologies.
During the span of two days, the conference would go round four main tracks that include King Abdullah initiative for solar water desalination, membranes industry and their applications in water desalination, thermal water desalination, wastewater treatment technology and bioreactors membranes.
The main topics of the conference cover technologies of solar water desalination, utilization and applications of membrane technology in water desalination, future direction and trends in thermal desalination. These topics also include sewerage water treatment technologies through biological treatment, bioreactors membranes, chemo-physic treatment and advanced treatment.
The conference targets decision makers, water-technologies concerned authorities, businessmen, local and international investing companies, business leaders, local and international companies active in the water technology sector, universities, governmental and private research and development centers and suppliers of technologies, solutions and services for science and technology and water sector. The conference also targets lab and equipment suppliers for water research and development work, developers of software and tools required by participants in the national plan for water sector, trainers and educators, centers of excellence and intellectual protection and patents administrations and universities and public education students.
