Information Center at KACST had issued a special booklet on the visit occasion of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz to KACST premises and inauguration of its phase II projects on Friday 28th Rabea Al Akher 1430 H.
His Excellency, KACST President Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al Suwayl had explained in his address to this special issue, that this honorable visit came as a crown for the previous efforts of KACST, and forward advance towards a new phase that shall soon be witnessed by KACST to achieve its ambitious goals for development and investment within the national range of science, technology and innovation to enhance building a community on knowledge basis.
The following introduction of KACST President Address had stated that K.S.A. is a part of this rapidly changing world; and because of its leading status in economic field at the international level, this would represent an advantage and important decisive factor to push forward scientific development, import modern technologies from advanced scientific centers, then settling and developing such technologies in the strategic fields.
The preface of the booklet states that the major trends of the Comprehensive National Plan for Science and Technology and approval of the government represent the real base and standard for model research environment that takes its principles from the Islamic values and teachings that encourage learning, perfect performance and construction of the earth, also based on the deeply rooted Arab Islamic Cultural Heritage.
The booklet had also presented the visit program prepared for the Royal visit occasion our ransomed King to KACST, reviewing its utilities, research centers, laboratories and future plans. The Royal visit was initiated by a tour around a specially prepared exhibition for the occasion comprising stalls for research institutes and centers and departments. The book had presented introductory explanation for all stalls and relevant contents.
The booklet covered the address ceremony conducted for this occasion, the reception of KACST President for the honorable guest and revival of KACST Projects in the Second Phase such as constructions and equipments that are distributed in eight sites within and outside the headquarters of KACST.
The booklet had also handled projects that are started by constructions inside the headquarters of KACST including the Main Administration Building Project, Conference Center Building, Bio-Technology Research Building, Computer and Electronics Research Institute, Smart Systems (Robot) Laboratory Building, Non-destructive Tests Laboratory, National Center for Material and quality, and the National Water Research Center.
Buildings in KACST premises also include Oil and Gas Technology Development Laboratory Building, Petrochemical Technology Development Laboratory Building, Energy Technology Development Lab. Building, National Mathematics and Physics Center Building, Environment Technology Development Lab. Building in addition to a number of the advanced manufacturing incubators.
KACST projects in King Khalid International Airport site include Aviation Technology Complex, Nano Technology Complex and Communications and Electronics Technology Complex while KACST Projects in Oyainah are including Petrochemical Technology Complex and Solar Energy Plant using Nano Technology with 10 MW capacity.
The booklet had also handed KACST Projects in Al Khafji city site, Technological Innovation and Common Technology Incubators with Universities, as well as Products Development Centers in the different regions of the Kingdom, Research Centres in Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University and the National Program for Automobile Technology in Sudair Industrial.
