The Saudi International Technology Incubation Conference Discusses
Building up a Promising Generation of Talents and Entrepreneurial Talent Pool

Participants in Activities of the 3rd Saudi International Technology Incubation Conference 2011 stressed the importance of preparing a promising generation of young talents and entrepreneurship capabilities in all technology fields particularly with the remarkable development and the keen interest that the technology sector enjoys in the kingdom.
The second day of the conference witnessed four scientific sessions that covered in their entirety discussions among the audience on the best means and solutions to build up an entrepreneurship eco-system that provides the solid ground to boost technology-entrepreneurship awareness, innovation centers and technology incubators as vital components to crystallize the kingdom’s vision and its initiatives in chartering an ambitious program towards the economy based on the knowledge society concept.
The first session tackled creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem and was chaired by Eng. Fahad Al-Hussain, CEO of International Systems Engineering (ISE), KSA with the participation of Mr. Saeed Amidi CEO Plug and Play. Silicon Valley, USA as the international speaker and three local speakers who are Mr. Turki Al Yahya, Founder / Owner of
White Pharmacies, Dr. Ibrahim Al Mojel, Corporate Planning
Saudi Aramco and Eng. Saleh Al Zaid Founder of several Saudi Technology Start-up Companies
The second session discussed Building an Entrepreneurial Talent Pool and was chaired by Mr. Emad Al-Dogther, the Founder and owner of Sema Nour Project. The international speaker in this session was Dr. Greg Horowitt, Co-Founder and Director Global Connect, University of California while the local speakers were Mr. Khalid Al Zamil, Director, Technology Business Incubator, King Fahad University for Petroleum and Minerals, Mr. Khalid Albawardi Founder and CEO Tad Company and Engineer Nasser Alnasser, Software engineer and site-developer.
The third session, chaired by Dr. Abdullah Al-musa, Special Adviser to the CEO STC – KSA concentrated on the Best Practice Incubation. Mrs. Dinah Adkins, President Emiritus of the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) USA was the international speaker in this session while the national speakers were Dr. Sultan Al Mubarak Director of BADIR for Biotechnology Incubator, Dr. Abla Bokhari, Director of the Business Incubator, King Abdulaziz University and Dr. Lilac Al Safdi, Director of Women’s Technology Incubator, King Saud University
The last session, chaired Dr. Abdulaziz Alhargan, BADIR Program Director was allotted for Conference Presentations besides discussing the conference’s recommendations.
Activities of the Saudi International Technology Incubation Conference would be concluded tomorrow with intensive workshops that would be held in Badir headquarters through the first three sessions of which, a training program would be presented to decision makers, managers and staff in the field of technology incubators while the audience would review their successful experiments as clients of Badir Incubator in the fourth and fifth sessions.
