Advanced-education schools Students Get First-Hand Knowledge about Usages of Solar Energy Applications

A group of students of primary advanced-education schools visited today Alo’yaynah research station, affiliated to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) to get familiar with the station and know about its contents of research centers and experiments workshops.
Eng. Adel Alshahuween, The Manager of the station, welcomed the visiting delegation and briefed them on KACST’s efforts in the field of solar energy, its practical applications implemented in the research station and laboratories of manufacture solar cells, sun symmetry, the photoelectric laboratory and the meteorological stations.
During the-students’ visit to photoelectric field, they got acquainted with how it works,  what will be developed in the field as a second phase to re-operate  it with a capacity 10 times equivalent to its earlier capacity. They also toured solar radiation measuring Stations, wind measuring stations and meteorological stations getting ideas about their work and functions.
The station researchers escorted the visiting delegation to the laser observatory located at the station the tracks and monitors KACST’s  satellites  in  the  space surrounding the Kingdom, The students also visited the production-line of Photovoltaic (PV) modules with a production capacity up to 3 megawatts where they listened into an elaborated explanation on production mechanism and  the production daily-capacity.
The vesting students of primary advanced-education schools wound-up their visit to the research station by a tour in the solar camp where they watched practical applications of using the solar energy in our daily life.
