Launching Activities of the First Saudi International Conference on Information Technology on Next Sunday
Activities of the First Saudi International Conference on Information Technology 2011 that is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and organized by King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in its headquarters are launched on Sunday in the presence of experts, researchers and prominent international speakers in this field.
The conference focuses on challenges that encounter the IT industry in the kingdom, the importance of supporting studies and researches to develop technology locally besides the vitality of qualifying specialized Saudi human resources in this field where about 16 international and local speakers will present current and new ideas in this sector as well as results of specialized studies and researches.
The conference, that comprehends 16 work papers and two discussion seminars for two successive days, elaborates on scientific progress in this filed with the participation of bouquet of international researches and experts in this field with the aim of indentifying opportunities available in this rapidly developing technology diagnosing potential current and future developments.
The main tracks of the conference cover: Social Networks, High performance Computing, Wireless Networks and Information Security. Focusing on these four tracks is due to their scientific importance and economic reflections on the society’s transfer into a knowledge-based society that contributes to achieving one of the of the main goals of the National Science, Technology and innovation plan that is carried out by KACST.
