
Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed Al Saud, Vice President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology(KACST) for Research Institutes aggrandized the closing ceremony of the activities of the Saudi club at the city of Oxford, United Kingdom, on Friday, 21st Sha’aban 1432.
The ceremony was attended by a number of high-ranking officials including the Saudi cultural attaché in the United Kingdom and Ireland Professor Ghazi Al-Makki, Professor Peter Edward, Head of the Inorganic Chemistry Department at the University of Oxford, number of KACST researchers and some researchers from other Saudi universities.
Prince Dr. Turki recommended the activities and agenda of the Saudi Student Club at city of Oxford that reflect the advanced scientific and cultural level achieved by the Saudi youth in international forums, that is a natural reflection of the great interest paid by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia .
In his speech on KACST’s activities in the field of science and technology, the Prince stressed that KACST plays a key role in supporting scientific research in the Kingdom in general as it also supports and implements research and studies presented by KACST researchers in strategic areas specified by the National Plan for Science Technology and Innovation, including energy, petroleum and gas, water, electronics and nanotechnology.
At the end of the ceremony, the Prince engaged in a dialogue with Saudi male and female students on scholarships where the prince stressed the importance of the students’ focusing on their educational attainment, building on the successes achieved in several previous occasions, stressing KACST’s support for them to complete their research within the Kingdom.
