“Science and Technology” Supports 37 Research Proposal by more than 42 Million Saudi Riyal
KACST allotted more than 42 million Saudi Riyal to support 37 research proposals within the 29th Annual Grants Program in its second phase. This program encourages applied scientific research with the aim of serving issues of national development through selecting issues that treat problems of the governmental sector and private sector in the kingdom.
Researchers, males and females, from various governmental bodies and authorities submitted their research proposals to KACST that agreed to support the research proposals after thoroughly scrutinized and making sure that they conform to regulations, procedures and systems set by KACST’s General Directorate of Research Grants. Among these 37 research proposals, there are 15 research proposals in the basic science field, 14 research proposals in the medical field and 4 research proposals in agriculture field.
Among the distinguished approved research proposal, there is a research proposal titled “Environmental Health Studies for Women and Children: Has exposing Breast-Feeding Saudi Mothers to Mercury a relation to Growth Retardation in the Early Childhood Phase?”. Another distinguished research proposal is ‘Examining Immunity of Breast-Cancer Stem-Cells” while a third remarkable research proposal is ‘Estimating Internal Bacterial Toxics in the Environment of Saudi Arabia”
Among the other research studies, there are also”Using Molecule Indications and Mono Multiplication to develop Saudi Wheat Species with Excellent Bread Specifications” in addition to a research proposal under the title of “An National Anticipation Study of Aggressive Endocarditis in Saudi Arabia”.
Taking these research proposals into account, the total number of research proposals KACST has approved to support within the 29th Annual Grants Program would be 66-research proposal and the support offered by KACST would be more than 77 million Riyal.
It is worth mentioning that Annual Grants Program has supported up till now 809 research proposal by more than 635 Riyal; out of which 159 research proposal are in the agricultural field, 221 research proposal in medicine, 133 research proposal in basic sciences, 292 research proposal in Engineering Sciences and 4 research proposals in humanities.
