محتوى الصفحة King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), represented by its Unit for Internet Services, launched the service of “Synchronizing Computer Clock with the World Standard Time” through using satellites as an advanced complementary service added to the internet service provided to the research and academic sector and some governmental bodies in the kingdom. Dr. Hisham Saleh Abbas, Supervisor of KACST Internet Services Unit indicated that the service aims to enable all Internet users in the Kingdom to synchronize the time of processed operations with the world standard time to become more accurate and more referenced revealing that this service uses Network Time Protocol technology besides its being optional and available to all. Inaugurating this service, KACST would be the first internet service provider in the Kingdom to provide this property by direct satellite link to provide the main world standard time that guarantees a high degree of accuracy in linkage and which by its turn, confirms KACST’s constant efforts to provide the best services and the latest technologies to keep pace with technological developments that meet the aspirations of the beneficiaries. It is worth mentioning that despite the presence of more than 175 thousand worldwide server that provide synchronization service, no more than 300 server can provide direct synchronization feature through satellites on the world level.
