Patronized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Preceded by the six Tutorials and a Scientific Symposium
Launching Activities of the Saudi International Electronics, Communications and Photonics Conference Next Sunday
Activities of the Saudi International Electronics, Communications and Photonics Conference would be inaugurated next Sunday under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. This conference, that is the first of its type in the Kingdom, is organized by the National Program for Electronics, Communications and Photonics at King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) at its headquarters in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in a remarkable presence of celebrated international experts, researchers and speakers in this field.
Six tutorials and workshops precede the conference and would be presented on Saturday by specialist companies in fields of Electronics, Communications and Photonics. The first tutorial tackles Advanced RF, Microwave and High Speed Digital Circuit Design organized by Agilent Technologies while the second workshop covers Monitor Graphics.
The third tutorial deals with Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) that is organized in collaboration between KACST and ESIEE-Université Paris-East. Experts from CSIR Company would present the fourth tutorial on this day under the title of Measurement, Modeling and Simulation of IR Systems.
The fifth tutorial would be presented by experts from National Instruments Company on LabView in Data Acquisition and communication systems while the sixth and last tutorial would be organized by Si-Ware System of ASIC Interface for MEMS. The activates of this day, that precedes the Conference official inauguration would be culminated by a scientific symposium organized by Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ) in collaboration with Kind Saud University (KSU) through which a scientific delegation from Germany would elaborate on novelties in the field of Quantum Optics.
Twenty-Five international speakers would take part in this Saudi International Electronics, Communications and Photonics Conference on whose forefront come Dr. Walden Rhines - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mentor Graphics, Dr. Ferenc Kraus - MPQ Director, Dr. Diaa Khalil - CTO of MEMS Division at Si Ware Systems, Dr. Andreas F. Molisch - Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA, Dr. Hugh Griffiths - Principal of the Defence College of Management and Technology at Cranfield University and Dr. Samir Hussain Abdul-Jauwad - Dean of the College of Applied Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
The conference, that extends for three days targets linking Saudi scientific and industrial institutions with their counterparts in advanced countries besides availing the chance for decision-makers and stakeholders in the kingdom to extract close-to-reality vision pertinent the status of Saudi specialist institutions on particular and the Saudi sector of electronics, communications and photonics in general.
The conference concentrates on boosting tools of development and scientific research in the Kingdom in fields of Electronics, Communications and Photonics as well as constructing stable mechanism for the relationship between labor market, scientific industry and scientific research centers besides giving the real image of the kingdom and presenting this image to the western awareness through the presence of this bouquet of international gurus who would present their vast and varied expertise in Electronics, Communications and Photonics that would construct bridges for scientific cooperation among universities, governmental institutions a and their foreign counterparts.
