Science & Technology Invites Authors & Researchers to participate in Writing Books or Translating them into Arabic

King Abdul Aziz City of Science and Technology (KACST), represented in the Scientific Publishing Committee, invited concerned writers and researchers who have the capability of simplified scientific writing inside the kingdom and outside the kingdom to take part in writing or translating scientific books, booklets and pamphlets into Arabic to contribute to diffusing scientific awareness and knowledge among members of the society.
KACST specified a number of controllers that authors and translators should abide by including sticking to rules of Islam, publishing rules and regulations stated the Scientific Publishing Bill and its executive rules as well as the material’s genuineness and novelty besides writing or translating the scientific material in correct, eloquent and facile Arabic in addition to referencing all sources used by the author.
KACST conditioned that the translator should submit the publisher’s approval to publish in Arabic. The written or translated material should be among those stipulated in the invitation booklet besides filling in the subscription applications and sending it to this email: spc@kacst.edu.sa.
Among the stipulated conditions is that the book or booklet should be of the medium size. Number pages for writing a book should not be less than 100 pages while pages of the booklet range from 80 to 99 and as for the pamphlet, it should not be less than 30 pages and not more than 79 pages.
KACST specified seventeen topics with their elements for researchers to write on or translate including Innovation, Data Security, Information Crimes, Scientific Applications of Nanotechnology, Static Analysis in Scientific Researches, Technology Incubators and their role in development besides Systems and Technologies of Agricultural Irrigations.
Topics to be translated included Patents, Nuclear-Power Plants, the Red Palm Weevil (Protection & Fighting), Drinking Water Purification Techniques, Specifying Research Priorities (Frames & Methods), Thermal Photography and its Applications, Petroleum Extraction And Refinery and Network Data Security.
KACST urged researchers and specialists to hand-over their written or translated topics by the end of working hours of Saturday 30th Rabi Awal 1432AH corresponding to 5the February 3011 as a cut-date, Bill of scientific publication and its executive rules can be reviewed through General Directorate for Scientific Awareness and Publishing in KACST headquarters or the via KACST website on the internet.
