His Highness Dr. Mohammed Al-Suwaiyle president of KACST received today in his office in KACST in Riyadh, Daniel Kawczynski the Member of the British Parliament and the accompanying delegation.
The visiting delegation, in a scour in KACST, identified efforts exerted in various fields of supporting and boosting scientific research and vitalizing its activities on the national level and in coordinating among governmental bodies, universities and the private sector besides consolidating efforts in this filed.
The visiting delegation were briefed about KACST’s research programs and projects in addition to KACST’s distinguished efforts in other scopes including strategic technologies that concern KSA and constitute the core of KACST’s interest for development within the Comprehensive National Plan for science and technology.
Meetings of the visiting delegation included means of mutual interest and beneficiary and exchange of scientific experiences between KACST and well-established scientific centers in the UK.
It is worth mentioning that KACST has joined research projects with the British Government where the two parts cooperate in studying sources of methane emission in KSA and specifying the best technologies for KSA to control and benefit from methane emission. There are also other environmental joined projects between the two parties to make full use of the latest developments and advanced technologies in this scope such as the agreement KACST signed with Lotus Engineering Company to develop best technologies to reduce environmental harms in car industry.
Moreover, KACST performs other researches with British universities in areas of applications of nanotechnologies, advanced research in membranes used in water desalination and petrochemicals and concentrating on environmental aspects and producing clean energy.
