“Science and Technology” supports five research proposals by about six million Saudi Riyals

KACST allotted about six million Saudi Riyals to support five research proposals within the grants program for developmental researches. This program cares to support developmental scientific researches that results in developing products or innovating systems in vital promising fields such as water, petrochemical industries, electronics industry, genetic engineering, biotechnologies and advanced technologies.

The supervisor of the General Administration for Research Grants Dr. AbdulRahman Ben Ibrahim Al Abdelli indicated that approved research proposals cover both the scopes of engineering and basic sciences. The engineering research, proposals include three proposals: the first is titled “Design and deployment of a system based on the GPS to evade vehicle accidents caused by stray camels”; the second is ‘Antennas coupled with diode valves to detect millimetrical waves”, while the third search proposal is “Developing a system for modeling and testing integrated digital circuits”

Dr. Al Abdelli added that there are two research proposals in the field of basic science: the first is titled “Treating signals of the electrocardiogram” while the second research proposal tackles”Developing a technology to remove deep sulfur from fuel oils”

Furthermore,   Dr. Al Abdelli stressed that this program targets achieving priorities of scientific and technological research approved within the framework of the long-range comprehensive plan for developing of science and technology in KSA that has been endorsed by the Saudi cabinet.

Dr. Al abdelli highlighted that this program has so far supported 17 research proposals by more than 14 million riyal, recommending those who want to know more about this program and KACST other programs to visit the electronic link: (http://grants.kasct.edu.as)

It is worth mentioning that KASCT, within its industrious efforts to support and encourage scientific research in KSA, has recently raised rewards for researchers, males and females, to 6 thousand SR per month for the principal researcher instead of 2 thousand SR per month and to 4 thousand riyal for the associated researcher instead of 2 thousand SR per month.
