His Excellency President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al Suwayl had inaugurated the official website of King Abdullah initiative for Arabic Contents (www.econtent.org.sa) in the presence of a group of KACST officials.

His Excellency Dr. Al Suwayl stated that the initiative is supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, honored by bearing his name.  Major objectives of the initiative is to maintain Arabic identity and heritage, support the existence of Arabic language in internet, and enable all Arab Social Groups to deal with information in their mother tongue.  The purpose of this is bridge the digital gap and thus facilitates acquisition of knowledge for all community members.

His Excellency had further stated that the objective is to introduce the initiative, explains its objectives and participants involved.  The website shall also shed light on the initiative projects, latest events, tools and softwares available within the scope of initiative.  This website shall be periodically updated to cover new events of the initiative, its projects and activities.

It is worth mentioning that King Abdullah Initiative for Arabic Contents had been experimentally launched earlier.  Some interactions were received during this period from website visitors on the local and Arab World levels.
