Science & Technology Holds the 14th Meeting of University Vice-Presidents for Academic Research

    KACST held the 14th Meeting of University Vice-Presidents for Higher Studies and Academic Research and officials in charge of scientific research in the educational institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia yesterday Monday under the presidency of Dr. Abdullah Ahmad Al Rasheed, KACST Vice President for Research Support and in the presence of KACST scientific research officials.
 Dr. Al Rasheed emphasized that meetings between KACST and the universities are constant in various fields whether through supporting researches, through the programs of the Science and Technology National Policy, through the internet services or through holding symposia and conferences.
He indicated that these meetings target transferring scientific research support from the phase of supporting the researcher into making the scientific research a helping tool in establishing knowledge into the kingdom and relying on it in designing the future lines for “our beloved country”
KACST Vice President for Research Support hoped that these meetings would contribute in finding scientific solutions for many of the obstacles that come across supporting scientific research in universities.
Meanwhile, Dr. Al Rasheed expressed KACST readiness to offer support to all Saudi universities particularly the new ones pertinent internet service and the other necessary and supporting services.
He also pointed that there is a qualitative leap in supporting scientific research through programs of Science and Technology National Policy and Grants Programs besides another leap in the number of submitted researches as a result of enhancing researchers’ positions as regards financial allowances and availing their requirements.
The meeting, that is held annually, comprehended also reviewing KACST’s support for scientific research during last year, side by side, with the efforts exerted in this field. The agenda of discussed topics included the technical and financial remarks while following up supported researches to propose appropriate solutions and find means to develop the scientific research in universities and the other educational institutes in the kingdom.
