Mission Statement

To conduct research related to oil & petrochemical industries, monitor their results, & participate in the development of oil & petrochemical industries technologies, & to create an industrial infrastructure that relies on the utilization of the natural resources in KSA

Responsibilities

   1.To identify the problems related to oil & petrochemical industries facing public & private authorities.
   2.To develop plans of applied research on oil & petrochemical industries
   3.To conduct applied research in oil & petrochemical industries
   4.To review the results of implemented research in order to assess goal achievement & notify relevant bodies of the assessment
   5.To monitor the scientific & technological developments in oil & petrochemical industries
   6.To conduct research & studies needed to protect the environment from oil & petrochemical waste
   7.To coordinate other bodies to conduct research
   8.To provide technical & scientific recommendations to other bodies in the areas of expertise of the institute
   9.To provide the appropriate research environment for areas falling within the interests of the institute
  10.To propose an HR & work methods development program in the institute in conjunction with the Management Development Administration
  11.To suggest an organization plan for scientific activities falling within the institute’s scope in conjunction with related departments
  12.To submit periodic reports on the institute’s activities
  13.To submit the annual budget proposal of the institute
  14.Any other tasks assigned to the institute within its domain
