Mission Statement

To conduct research in electrical engineering, electronics, systems engineering, computer engineering science & technologies that serve the Kingdom

Responsibilities

1 To supervise affiliated centers & coordinate among them
2 To conduct applied research in computer, electronics & communication technologies
3 To design & develop electronic systems & equipment & software
4 To offer technical & scientific consultation to other bodies on issues related to computer & electronics
5 To provide the appropriate research environment for areas falling within the interests of the institute
6 To propose an HR & work methods development program in the institute in conjunction with the  Management Development Administration
7 To suggest an organization plan for scientific activities falling within the institute’s scope in conjunction with related departments
8 To submit periodic reports on the institute’s activities
9 To submit the annual budget proposal of the institute
10 Any other tasks assigned to the institute within its domain

Associated Centers:

1- Acoustics Center

    Objective

    Conduct research on acoustics & their computer applications

    Tasks

    1. To conduct research on acoustics & their computer applications
    2. To set standards for the evaluation of related products, & suggest ways to enhance these products
    3. To suggest appropriate programs to develop the center’s HR
    4. To periodically report on the center’s activities
    5. To submit the annual budget proposal of the center
    6. Any other tasks assigned to the center related to acoustics

2- Electronics Center

    Objective

    Design & manufacture layouts of  electronic circuits to support  domestic industries

    Tasks

    1. To conduct research on electronic circuits
    2. To set standards for the evaluation of related products, & suggest ways to enhance these products
    3. To suggest appropriate programs to develop the center’s HR
    4. To periodically report on the center’s activities
    5. To submit the annual budget proposal of the center
    6. Any other tasks assigned to the center related to acoustics
