Mission Statement

To conduct research related to geophysics & astronomy

Responsibilities

   1.To supervise affiliated centers & coordinate among them
   2.To develop & implement plans of applied astronomical & geophysics research
   3.To review the results of implemented research in order to assess the achievement of set goals
   4.To notify relevant bodies of the assessment
   5.To monitor the progress, operation & maintenance of permanent programs such as the earthquake watch network & crescent observatory.
   6.To provide technical & scientific recommendations to other bodies in the domain of expertise of the institute
   7.To provide the appropriate research environment for the institute’s researchers
   8.To propose an HR & work methods development program in the institute in conjunction with the Management Development Administration
   9.To suggest an organization plan for scientific activities falling within the institute’s scope in conjunction with related departments
  10.To submit periodic reports on the institute’s activities
  11.Any other tasks assigned to the institute
